We could all do with fewer wrinkles, right? Over time we all begin to notice more and more creases and fine lines pop up in areas of our faces we’d least expect. These wrinkles and fine lines can add age to our appearance and leave us feeling less like ourselves and more like an aging fossil! Fortunately, our medically-trained team—led by board-certified cosmetic plastic surgeon Dr. Adibfar—at Toronto’s Elements Spa can help. Enter Restylane!
What is Restylane?
Restylane is an FDA-approved injection comprised of a gel that contains hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is most commonly found in our bodies and helps keep our skin looking lush, hydrated, and youthful. As we age, we naturally lose our stores of hyaluronic acid in our skin.
How does Restylane Work?
Restylane works by mimicking the natural hyaluronic acid found in our skin. When injected it binds and attracts water to allow the area to look more hydrated which in turn smooths and fills surrounding fine lines and wrinkles. That means smoother, more hydrated skin. It works incredibly well to add definition, contour, and volume to areas of the face.
Where is it Injected?
There are more common areas where Restylane is injected. Some of these areas include the under eyes and tear troughs, lips and mouth area, the cheeks, and other underlying structures of the face to ultimately add volume. When administered by an experienced professional, the results will look natural.
