Who wouldn’t want smoother, brighter, healthier, and younger-looking skin, right? The reality is that sometimes we need a little extra help that goes beyond a new skincare regime and daily green smoothies to boost our skin’s vitality and promote skin regeneration. At Toronto’s Elements Spa, our experienced team of skincare experts — led by board-certified cosmetic plastic surgeon Dr. Adibfar — can give your skin the regeneration it needs via two efficient treatments: microneedling and mesotherapy. Let’s take a closer look at these treatments and how you can get the rejuvenating benefits your skin needs.

Microneedling

One microneedling session can produce remarkable results. The treatment involves the latest in microneedling technology to safely produce minuscule punctures in the skin. These punctures technically ‘injure’ the skin to develop strong skin repair. When punctured the skin begins to produce more collagen to repair any damage, therefore healing and regenerating it on a more potent level. While it may sound slightly daunting, the body’s reparative process is natural, safe, and incredibly effective.

As a result, the body begins to form new cells and send more blood to the area alongside collagen and elastin. As the skin continues to heal, the regeneration in the days and weeks to follow promote more collagen production with improved signs of skin rejuvenation. Because collagen and elastin production are compounding over time, patients will notice continued improvement in their skin’s condition for weeks to follow after their session. After the skin fully recovers from any signs of redness, patients notice that along with improved quality, their skin looks smoother, brighter, tauter, and vibrant — and the results are long-lasting! While microneedling is a popular facial treatment, it can also be used to address other problematic areas of the body including the neck, chest, hands, and more.

Mesotherapy

Many patients have reaped the benefits of the remarkable regenerative and anti-aging effects of mesotherapy! This non-surgical skincare treatment involves injections delivered just below the skin. While the injections are not fillers, your injector will likely create a custom combination of ingredients for you to tackle any specific or pesky skin concerns. Typically, the injection is comprised of hyaluronic acid and other acids that are naturally found in our skin cells. Other ingredients may also include vitamins and plant extracts. Essentially, these injections are delivered to moisturize and hydrate the skin by plumping it up and stimulating the cells to create naturally occurring hydration from the inside out. As mentioned, while these are injections, patients can rest assured that the ingredients used are naturally found in our cells and bodily tissues already. We simply lose these hydrating factors over time. Depending on your skin concerns, you may be advised to complete a series of treatments and patients find that over time their skin looks younger, smoother, more hydrated and that any apparent lines and wrinkles are softened. Depending on the patient’s skin, some may see swelling for up to 24-48 hours after their session while other patients report no swelling at all!

If you’re interested in amplifying your skincare routine by adding a rejuvenating and anti-aging treatment to reset and regenerate your skin, then microneedling and mesotherapy may be the treatments for you!
